Uknown Territory

Why are we so afraid of people that are different than us? Because when stargirl came they said that she was unknown territory.

Because people think we should all act the same way. But when someone acts differently they don't really know what they should do, and that scares them.

To answer your question, I think that people are afraid of people who are considered different because we each go through our lives, and don't know exactly what to expect. When that unexpected thing happens, we react by going into a kind of shock where we think, this is bad. Not normal. STAY AWAY!! It's hard to react to new stuff. For example, moving. Many of you have experianced this and probably didn't particularly like the situations they put you in. Sometimes people move to a new place and are afraid, self-concious even. To be who they truly are. A lot of people get into their everyday lives and think, oh, my life is ordinary. Trust me when I say that no life is "ordinary". Even though it's hard to accept each others differences, we should embrace those differences and be happy that not everyone's life is exactly like yours. Because that would just be kind of creepy. Anyway, back on subject. People get used to their lives being a certain way and once something threatens that, we react again by panic, fear; fear of the unknown. Don't be afraid of the unknown; you face it each day.
