The plant relates to Mama because she is attached to the plant emotionally. The plant reminds her of her husband that passed away.

I think it relates to her because she cares for it just like she cares for her family. She loves the plant just like she loves her family and she worries about them and wants them to be happy and healthy. The plant like symbolizes her family in a way.

This is from the other page, but here anyway. I think the plant signifies Mama's hopes and dreams. Actually, everyone in the story's hopes and dreams. You know how she is just keeping it alive? Also, how the author keeps bringing it up at random points in the story? I think because she keeps hoping that it will survive another winter, or hardship that it goes through. This is much like the hope for her family; that they will keep on trying no matter how distant their hopes and dreams are from their reach. She is hoping they will realize that if they just stick together, work together, as a family, they can make it through any winter; no matter how hard the wind blows. The plant is her family that she loves and cares about.

i think the plant symbolizes her family and everything that they are going through. Like when the family is going throught a hardship the plant gets weak. I also think that it can mean mamas love of gardening, it helps her keep her gardening skills so when she gets her house she can be good at it.

I think Mama's Plant reminds her of her husband that passed away. I also think the plant relates to all that her family has gone through.

Mama's plant gives her something to put her love into and maybe it fills in a little of the emptiness that she feels from her late husband and doesnt want to loose it like she lost him.

It relates to her because she said her plant is trying to grow and be strong and so is she.

Mama's plant relates to her because it reminds her of her husband who died. She keeps the plant and cares for it because she sees that everything needs to be taken care of.
